Job summary
AWS Training and Certification (T&C) is seeking a Contracts Operations Specialist to work closely with the Vendor Strategy Manager to centralize vendor engagement processes and activities, and manage metrics, tools, trainings, and communications for the Vendor Strategy Team. We're looking for someone who can identify and implement process improvements and simplifications, enjoys working with multiple teams, and loves the challenge of learning about new subject matters and issues. This role calls for strong relationship building and collaborative skills across teams and beyond.

You will be a key member of a growing Strategy team, reporting to the Vendor Strategy Manager. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and drive. You should be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving. You must be able to identify and find ways to eliminate bottlenecks, manage escalations, and find creative ways to advance business needs while adhering to internal processes. You should thrive in uncharted and fast-paced environments, be able to manage through ambiguity and complexity, and invent and simplify processes. Sound judgment, willingness to engage, and the ability to influence are all essential to success in this role.

While the preferred location is Seattle, WA, this role can be performed near any US AWS office in the following cities: Arlington, Atlanta, Austin, Ballston, Boston, Chicago, Cupertino, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, East Palo Alto, Herndon, Houston, Irvine, Minneapolis, New York City, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Tempe, Sunnyvale, or Santa Monica.

Key job responsibilities

Key priorities of the role include:
  • Centralize contracting activities and processes across T&C teams
  • Improve and develop mechanisms to track, manage and review vendor contracts across teams
  • Become an expert in the processes required to engage a vendor, act as advisor
  • Understand and ensure alignment with Amazon policies, including spending and tax policy, and PO-only guidelines
  • Manage tools, trainings, and communications for the Vendor Strategy Team, establish and manage team metrics

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $92,500/yr. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
