Social Media Assistant (Part-Time)

Spoonfed Agency is an independently-owned boutique firm specializing in PR, marketing, branding, event management, experiential design, social media & content creation that produces incomparable results in today’s bustling landscape of food & beverage, hospitality, travel, technology, and health & wellness.

We are looking for a motivated, organized and creative social media assistant to join our growing team for 15-20 hours a week. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of digital media landscape, including various social media sites and how to optimize content so that it is engaging on those channels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing consistent, meaningful content to website redesign projects, monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks, engaging in online forums, participating in online outreach and promotion, optimizing our website and conducting keyword analysis.

Scope of work:

Develop social media messaging for clients. Create attention-grabbing copy for all social channels, leveraging trends, news stories, media coverage, and/or more to drive the clients’ conversation on social channels.

Create social content calendar on a weekly and monthly basis

Write creative content for weekly blogs

Research and source appropriate photography assets for social media needs

Act as the eyes and ears of Spoonfed by monitoring online conversations for all clients’ social media and responding in a timely manner

Optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content

Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

Assist in the general distribution of press releases and media alerts

Attend occasional client events

Performance Measurement

Execute weekly dashboard audits to measure social effectiveness:
  • engagement
  • traffic from social platforms to websites
  • new followers on social platforms
  • present results


BS in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field or at least 2 -3 year’s work experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills

In-depth working knowledge of social media networks

Experience with social media analytics

Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign
